desire to inspire

i just came across this amazing blog, desire to inspire, and one of the most wonderful blog posts ever, chair porn! i am kind of chair freak, if i could find chairs at stores, flea markets and vintage shops for clients for a living i would. check out the rest of the amazing photos.
address stamp
i'm in the market for an address stamp. i love sending cards, postcards, packages and who doesn't love getting mail? i am asking for your help as to which stamp i should get. these are my favorites from etsy.

throwback thursday 9
i apologize that i did not put up videos last week. i'm a slacker/i was just too unmotivated to find videos. here are some girlie goodies from 1987. thank you to lucia who gave me the inspiration.
breakfast for dinner

i always envy the delicious meals and foods over at smitten kitchen. i know, i know she cooks for a living but the pictures are gorgeous and i wish my life looked like that. sadly it does not. i'm not gonna set the table all fancy or go out and buy all new cookware just to take fabulous pictures and pretend that my life is something it is not. i vowed to take more pictures of my cooking and food creations and here it goes.
breakfast for dinner is a favorite at the delor house. lucia and i make it about twice a month or more and it is always the same thing: scrambled eggs, biscuits (southern style) and bacon. here is a photo of this delicious meal. oh, and we switched it up this time and used hickory smoked bacon ;).

calling all book club suggestions
i have always wanted to be part of a book club. i love reading. i guess i should have started one myself but it just so happens that 2 friends of mine are getting people together to start one soon. lucky me! here are my suggestions for our first book and any other suggestions from readers are welcome.

the small stakes
if i have not yet praised jason munn over at the small stakes then today is the day. jason's work includes posters, t-shirts, book covers, album packaging and illustrations. i love love love his poster shop, even though the one i have had my eye on is sold out. each poster has a limited number of prints pulled so you gotta nab them while they are available. believe me, i have tried to track down some of the sold out ones and i got nowhere. here are a few of my favorites...

tulip fields

i can't lie, i love sci-fi and i think crop circles are pretty phenomenal but this might take the cake. apparently the tulip is a symbol of the netherlands (who knew right?) and tourists come to see the aerial view of these fields of tulips. they look amazing right?
this picture was found on the style files.

spring has sprung
the weather has become steadily warm enough to plant flowers. it is officially spring! last weekend i made a trip to lowes and walmart with my mom for some flowers, bushes and a small tree and spent the rest of the day planting and getting dirty (i don't care for gardening gloves). now i am just praying that we don't have any drops in temperatures or frosts. see the pics of my new plant babies below. i also planted lots of herbs but didn't have time to take any pictures of them.

russel wright reborn
so i'm scrolling through old posts of apartment therapy looking for a picture of a room that i am convinced i saw on there a few days ago and i come across this post. It turns out that bauer pottery is reissuing some pieces of russel wright's american modern pottery collection.many of you dont know this but i actually collect russel wright american pottery (the real vintage version circa 1939-1959) and i have been since about the age of 13. on one hand i think it is pretty cool that at a young age i started this collection and scoured antique malls and vintage stores for pristine pieces. on the other hand i was a young, naive girl who thought that i really wanted to collect the coral and seafoam colors. these colors are of the most rare of the line to find, especially in good condition but nonetheless i maybe should have chosen otherwise.
i guess i never really considered eating or serving with it, so as to not ruin my pieces until i saw that post. i think pieces of this new american modern could be intergrated into an all white set, but a whole table of it just doesn't look right unless it is in a display at an antique shop. if i ever find the right cabinet on craigslist, i will dust off my collection and proudly display it in my home.
a side note: the images from the russel wright design gallery are so beautiful. i suggest that everyone check them out.
calendars
i need to own this and i think it is worth it, right? i've seen it in pictures and every time i do, i swoon over its prettiness but i hmm and haw over the price. it would look so nice in my green kitchen. one day i will make it mine and i hope that day is soon.
i also wish this calendar wasn't sold out on etsy. i need it to be on my desk like yesterday.
tea for me

tea gets me through the day. heck, it gets me through the day, weekends and evenings. i love tea. today i am sharing with you a few of my favorites while drinking tea (chamomile!). i usually get my tea loose from the spice shop in soulard market but these teas are pretty spectacular.

felt nation
my fondest childhood crafting memories often included felt, for example, my first communion banner of which i meticulously cut out purple felt circles and hot glued them to form grapes. little did i know that felt can be used in so many other ways and for items that i would not be embarrassed to be seen using or wearing. here is my tribute to cool felt things...
throwback thursday 7
here are some tracks reachin' way back to 1996. i think i was rocking a sony discman at that time. enjoy!
easter fun
apparently after a weekend of being 19 again it takes me a full 7 days to post again on our blog. i promise to be better. this post however is about easter and all of its brunching, egg dying and chocolate eating fun! since my childhood a number of different egg dying kits and crafts have come onto the market although this one will always be number 1 in my heart. i do love a good craft project and here are a few easter idea that i may be trying out this year.

throwback thursday 6
for this week's throwback, i have had a few requests. they are not from a particular year and are kind of a hodge pogde mix. i think you all will enjoy them none the less.
throwback thursday is the envy of all your friends
today throwback thursday is an homage not just to our legacy-making college years, but also to the darling irish lass living it up in jackson, ms.
also i decided to go with a little theme-action today. how do we feel about that?

pretty printed things
oh heck no!
sometimes i stumble across a photo or a website that makes me stop, stare and then mock incessantly at the ridiculousness of humanity. it appears that these women are standing together, knees up, pouring water on their stretchjods, why? because they are water repellant of course! in case you were wondering stretchjods are stretchy jodphurs and these 3 women seem to be really enjoying themselves.
kate, lucia, nickle and i will NOT be doing things like this over the weekend.

street style
i'm sure that many of you are familiar with the satorialist website. he takes beautiful shots of people on the street with amazing style, many of whom (the women i mean) have the longest, thinnest legs that i didn't think actually existed in real life. aside from leg envy, here are some of people whose style i am also envious of.

to jackson we will go

in case you have missed the subtle hints throughout these last two weeks of posts, this weekend is going to be a grand old reunion between me, nickle, kater and lucia. we are convening in jackson where kater lives and being totally and completely debaucherous. we will spare you the ridiculous details after the fact, i promise. i have been planning outfits and crazy scenarios for weeks now.
to tie this all into a post, i think a persons luggage says a lot about who they are and this picture made me happy and even more ready for it to be friday!
